Kensworth Alton Francis, 29, of Mississauga, Ontario, was arrested in Hartford on Tuesday, March 26.

York Regional Police said they are working to extradite Francis to the York Region.

According to Constable James Dickson of the York Regional Police, on Saturday, July 23, 2022, around 3:30 a.m., York Regional Police responded to the ATL Lounge in the City of Vaughan for a report of shots fired.

When officers arrived, they located three victims with gunshot wounds.

Two of the victims, nightclub security guards Tosin Amos-Arowoshegbe, age 25, and Chibueze Momah, age 22, died from their injuries; a 20-year-old woman was transported to a hospital and survived, Dickson said.

Francis reportedly shot the men because he was upset that someone splashed water on him and a fight broke out.

He was charged with two counts of murder and attempted murder.

Dickson said the York Regional Police are grateful for the efforts of US Marshals in making the arrest.
